Hey Whyvillians. I'm back this week with another set of prompts. I was really disappointed to see that there were not any articles written that were inspired by last week's. So hopefully these will get your creative juices flowing!
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
I was watching TV and the movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" came on. While it is an action packed movie, it actually brought up some interesting thoughts. In America we have this idea of a "perfect family". Mom and dad, one boy, and one girl. But that doesn't always happen. In fact, it doesn't happen most of the time. Families now-a-days are made up of all kinds of different dynamics. And while they may not be "perfect" in the stereotypical sense, they are their own kind of happy. What makes up your family? How are you different, embrace and grow from that? Is there such a thing as the "perfect" family?
Pushed to the Limit
On Saturday I ran a 5k (3.1 miles) for a charity. I am not a runner. I exercise every day, but I am not very good at long distance running. But, I decided it was for a good cause and so I pushed myself. I ran the full 3.1 miles in just over 27 minutes (averaging 8:50 miles). I was very proud of myself. How have you pushed yourself to your physical limit? Is there something you're proud of that you worked for? How important is it to challenge ourselves physically?
Fall Treats
Today at the grocery store I had the urge to buy pumpkin bread. I even looked up the recipe for pumpkin ice cream on the Internet. What is it about fall that makes you want specific foods? For me, it's anything pumpkin. I just can't seem to get enough! Share your favorite fall recipes and what you crave this time of the year.
Also, for those who had articles published in this week's issue, you may have noticed you received a clam award. For every article that you have published you will receive 250 clams. This is to award the writers who have worked and dedicated their time and energy to the Times. Thank you for all that you do! If you are in need of some clams for that special face part or Scion, then write an article and if you are published you will also receive 250 clams per article. So get writing!
