Swag, swag, swag! Flawless faces, big city, expensive cars, kissing in the car park. Sound familiar? Skimpy clothes, booze, clubs. Sound familiar? Society has this image of 'cool' they want us to follow. The image of cool is constantly changing. Listen to songs that were hits last year and you get labelled as lame. Wear the same clothes from last year's fashion and you're a loser.
The more often they change these trends that are supposed to be cool the more we have to change to follow them. This way they can get us to do what they want us to - consume, consume, consume. Out with the old, in with the new equals more money for them.
It's time to change. What gives them the right to tell you what's cool? Shouldn't you have the right to wear what you feel like, listen to the music you want to and act the way you want? What gives them the right to control you?
No more copying your favorite movie stars. They can do what they want, you do what you want. One direction fans, I know Liam is afraid of spoons and Louis likes carrots. That doesn't mean that you have to go on a three week spoon famine or suddenly fall in love with carrots even though you hated them before. Be the most unique Louis fan of all - one that doesn't like carrots.
Wear what you like. Listen to what you like. Say what you want to. Be who you want to be. Who knows, you might even be a trend setter?
