Here are this week's prompts. I hope these inspire you to write an article for the Times!
What's In A Name?
The other day in the grocery store I was looking for something fast and easy to make for breakfast. I saw a pumpkin bread mix on the shelf called Quick Bread. 'Perfect!' I thought. But when I went to make it I learned this "quick bread" takes 1 hour to make. That doesn't seem very quick. Now I feel like I was lied to because I believed the name. Does the name of a product make you want to buy it? How do you feel when that name doesn't turn out to be true? Is it the manufacturer's fault for not being honest or the consumer's fault for not doing the proper research?
The Perfect Night
Last night one of my friends had a party at her house. But this wasn't a "rager". This was my idea of a perfect night. She had a big bonfire, lots of food, good music and friends. It was time to relax and enjoy the beautiful fall night. Nothing could have made it better! What is your idea of a perfect night? Do you like being outdoors, or going to the movies? Does your family make you smile or do you crave time with your friends? Or does any of it matter, it just happens randomly when all the right things come together.
Back to School Surprise
Now that most of you have been back to school for about a month, describe to us something that has surprised you about this school year. Do you have a teacher or class that you really enjoy? Have you met a new friend? Did you get asked/ask out your crush? Did you make the sports team? Share with us something you didn't expect to happen, that happened!
Happy Writing!
