A swarming of red's and green's covering the walls, present in stores
OVER-SIZED OUTFITS
That huge entity bringing about unfathomable warmth
An inevitable accessory in shops, sweaters for sure
All arising from the increasing cold brought on by the north
The infinite moose, reindeer, and penguin fitted attire, a lure
MELODIOUS MUSIC
The various Christmas carols present, an assured feat
The joyful melody, a tune the utmost difficult to beat
Mixing of voices and delighted visages, all a treat
A tangible entertainment, whereas others find it hard to meet
HOT CHOCOLATE
The pool of chocolate goodness, an unmatchable calm
The floating white billows, calling out to your mouth
The heat of the winter-themed mug, tracing a path from your palm
A delectable delight, even present in the barely cold south
STANDSTILL SCHOOL
The boisterous noises of the 21st, pronouncing the end of the year
"No more homework, projects, or tests!" They all joyfully cheer
A month-long worth of freedom in their hands, the idea so clear
Smiles forming when driving away, all by the sight of school in the rear
FAMILY FUNCTIONS
The breaks from work a guaranteed aspect of the lovely month
More time for us, the main thought swarming, evident in my mind
The extended family coming for visits, onslaught of voices all at once
The cousins, the nieces, all playing their strange games, hands entwined
All these aspects swarming together, make the ever-delightful definition of winter for me.
