Hello, Whyvillians! If you don't remember, I made an article about a year ago from the day you are reading this. It is named "Whyvillians Revealed: Beach South". It's article ID number is 12667 if you want to look at it before you make an approach to this article. In that article, I looked around South Beach while dressed like a "Newbie" and tried to converse with some people. I got to talk and have a nice conversation with some people, but I got taunted at by others. Last year, I noticed that around the same amount of people had respected and disrespected newcomers to Whyville. So with my curious mind, I decided to test the experiment once more to see if anything had changed.

Here we have my first look. My username did give away that I was a pretty good fan of Harry Potter. So when I greeted the Whyvillian, she asked me if I like Harry Potter. I told her that I did, and we ended up having a little discussion over the series.

Unfortunately, I did not get a good outcome like the one before. I kindly said my greetings to the two Whyvillians, and they reacted as you can see above. Actually, they ended up taunting me, saying cruel things like, "Haha! That newb is trying to get me!" and, "What a loooooser!!!" It was a bit degrading. This wasn't a good outcome.

This was another unfortunate outcome. I simply said, "Hi! :)" to a stranger. The Whyvillian realized what I seemed to be [a Newbie] and ran away, leaving the reply of, "ew" as she left. Soon after, she started calling me names. Most of the names are those that I won't be allowed to say in the Whyville Times. That's a bit harsh! Maybe I'll have better luck next time! It just seems that the South Beach has become duller than last year.

Another letdown happened the next day. While editing the screenshot to blur out everyone and smudge our avatars, I clicked back to the chat room here and there. I still found the Whyvillian taunting me. That outcome was downright ridiculous! How could someone taunt someone that they don't even know? I'm really starting to doubt my thoughts of South Beach being a better place than last year.

Ah, the art of throwing pies. After simply saying "hi" to a stranger, the Whyvillian moved away and hit me with a pie. Later, I asked why it was thrown. "Because you're a Newb." The power of how you look on Whyville is infamous. . . Will I have better luck next time?

This was a blowout . . . Not a hint of kindness in this reply. After the Whyvillian told me to go away, I did. I didn't want to start anything unnecessary. Have South Beach vacationers become more evil toward people in Newbie attire? I'm starting to feel a slight change.

It seems like this is my final reply for this edition. It was quite a relieving reply, as well. This Whyvillian was very nice and respectable when we had a conversation. "Right on!"
I feel like South Beach has become slightly ruder to "Newbies" after a year of my first investigation. This was definitely an interesting investigation and report. Thanks to everyone who participated in this article! And a special thumbs up to those who actually treated me nicely!
Have a fun time in South Beach, but remember that you were a Newbie once. You know how it feels to be degraded over your avatar. Do you really want to bully someone over something that happened to you years ago? Is it even worth it anymore? Those are just a few things to think about.
