Hey Whyville! I was just checking out the times and saw an article that really caught my eye. It was by Guest Writer Liss22, called Would Keeping Whyville Smaller Be Better? In the article she talked about how more people would clutter Whyville. She thought that if more people joined Whyville and bought passes it would take even longer to get onto Whyville. Well, if you take a look at it from a different view, you would see a little something like this...

  • If more people get on and buy passes, Whyville could possibly make enough money to end passes all together.
  • With the more money Whyville makes, more rooms will be added and therefore more room for people to go on.
  • With more people involved, including parents and teachers, more why-passes will be bought. Which leads me back to the 1st *StaR*.
  • And don't you want others to enjoy our beautiful town? It is wonderful and we need to let others experience it as well. That's the Whyville Way.
  • About the poster thing -- Whyville wants people to be inspired by the members of Whyville. This way it won't look like Whyville is just putting on a little show for everyone. People want REAL opinions by REAL Whyville members.

I know there are many others who agree and disagree with my outlook and also Liss22's. I can sort of see why Liss would feel this way. It is sort of hard to let a bunch of newbies come in and overrun the older members of our town. I know this, because I have been a member since late-fall of 2000 and consider myself an old member of Whyville. But we have to let others enjoy Whyville. Some haven't had the luxury of finding Whyville. If you weren't a member of Whyville, and hadn't found it yet, wouldn't you want someone to tell you about it? Wouldn't you want to hear about the best site on the internet?

I know, it might be harder to get onto Whyville if the new people don't buy passes, but if teachers and other businesses hear about Whyville this way, just think about the sponsors we could get. I don't know about anybody else, and their opinions, but I think Whyville has a pretty good idea going here. Keep up the good thinking!

Going to go read some more Times articles... this is LilFlower, signing off!
