This is Giggler01 and I have started hanging out in Times Square a lot. This
place is awesome because a lot of newbies hang out around the Square and so
you meet a lot of really cool people. If that isn't enough, I LOVE reading
the ads. Some of them are kinda cheesy, but they're fun to read anyway.
Well, I've seen a few that have got me thinking. The one I wanna tell you
about is one that I saw today. I can't remember exactly how it went, but I
think it was something like this: "Everyone spends their money trying to be
popular, but if you use your money to help others, that is what will make
you popular." How true is that?
Lately there has been a lot of talk among citizens about not letting in any more newbies to Whyville, to stop the population from growing so fast... but let's think of it this way. You have been on Whyville forever. You survived the Whyville Blackout, you are a
famous designer and you remember the days when you talked to people like
Vanilla and Charity everyday.
Now, you're all those things and that might also make you a big target for
hackers. So what if you got hacked and you had to start a new account, but
Whyville didn't let newbies in? What would you do then?
So let's look at that same situation, but Whyville lets in newbies. You'll
need some money and so you might do a bit of begging. It would be one of
those times when no one would want to help you and you might think, "Gee, I
wish I would have helped some people."
Maybe it might a good thing if something like that happened to a few of us.
Then we would realize that it is REALLY hard to be a newbie, and that you
learn to accept what you look like. I'm not saying go out and hack these
people -- I just think that some of us need a reality check.
We are so concerned about how we look now! Take a look at the Whyville
gallery section of the Whyville Times and you will realize that we care way
too much about this. In an article written by Vanilla, she describes her wedding and shows a picture -- almost everyone is wearing those old Akbar's rain hats.
So, that ad really got me thinking, and whoever posted, I hope that you have
helped me inspire a few people. Thank you for your time.
This is Giggler01
saying good night to you all. (Or day if you're reading this in the day, but
I'm writing it in the evening, so do you understand? Maybe I should change
it.... Oh never mind, it's all good.)
