The Problem with Petitions

Hi, I'm bettyjoe, here again. Yes, I AM going to complain, but for a cause!

I am sick and tired of the City Hall petition booth being cluttered with petitions that are meaningless and dumb! I am sorry, but when it comes down to it, when something really important goes on the list, no one signs it 'cause they are too self-centered.

I have put many different petitions about making a sort of BBS for the WhySchool and WhyTutor programs on the site. How many signatures did I get? No more than 23! But whoever wanted a MAKEOUT ROOM got a zillion votes! Really! DO YOU ACTUALLY think that Whyville would promote that?

Now all these petitions are getting pointless and selfish -- makeout park, i need a b/f or g/f, a sk8er park, an anime convention, this or that type of club, face parts for less! MOST OF THESE YOU can make come true by YOURSELF!! If you want face parts for less then make them and charge less. If you want to make a club put up an ad and start one. If you want a convention then put up and ad and get some help to start one. BUT DONT PUT MINDLESS JUNK IN THE PETITIONS AND WASTE VALUABLE SPACE THAT CAN BE USED FOR GOOD!!

Don't tell me that you need a MAKEOUT park... really! You should be ashamed of yourselves... your greedy selves. If it's something that Whyville can benefit from, then by all means put it up! But for a makeout park or banishing Why-Passes (live with them, no point in petitioning against them 'cause City Hall's keepin' them -- if you don't buy 'em, that's more effective in making Whyville poor than any petition you could write) then think twice!

Let your brains rot, but I won't let mine.

~bettyjoe~
