This is a still life I drew a few years ago. (Please forgive the awful picture.) One of our first projects in our freshman year Art class was to learn the values of lights and darks, and the genre of still life. Obviously, I wasn't the best at shading, among other things, and the fixative used didn't prevent smudging. (It doesn't help that I've stored it in a bed chest for a few years.) This is only one side of the entire project, whereas the other is unfinished because the objects used were relocated and hidden by a prankster belonging to my class.
