I am writing this hoping that this will be posted up in the newspaper
I have once saying that I think everyone should know about. Here it is:
"For every minute we spend being angry and hating we are losing 60 seconds of joy, love, happiness, and most of all, peace."
As most of us know, there is a war going on in Israel. This is war to me is pointless. The Israelis and the Palestinians are fighting over this Holy Land. I do realize their differences and respect that, but don't they see their war over this land is destroying their history and their religion? I know about the suicide bombers, and how now the Israelis are fighting back, but is it all worth it? Really, is this war worth all these casualties? They aren't destroying the enemy, they are destroying themselves. With every bomb they set, every tank, and with every gun, they are killing.
Don't they see the damage upon lives they are taking? They are killing innocent people for this land. They are destroying not the enemy but each other. What are they trying to prove when a suicide bomber goes to a hotel and blows up the bomb plus himself? What does that prove? Their victory? No, they are proving nothing.
What about the children? They are destroying the future. What will they do when there are no children? The attacks are stopping supplies from coming in. Both Israeli and Palestinian childrens' world is being destroyed before their eyes. Children are starving due to lack of supplies -- what about their physical health? Some children that have been in contact with a bomb or gunshot wounds are either dying or suffering. All this war in Israel is just creating more hate.
More hate and less love. Our world today is in need of more love. If only those haters could see what is going on their country from our point of view. Maybe then there would be world peace. Not just in Israel is more love needed, but in all the world. Today even in Canada and the USA there is hate. Racism, war, mockery at school, and just plain street fights. What is it all worth? It's not just war that's killing us, but bullying, mocking people, and racism -- this is what is killing us. In the paper I read about children killing themselves over bullies. With all this hate in the world, we are destroying ourselves and our planet Earth.
Now, when I have little fights with my sister, I think is this fighting worth what is going on in the world? No, it's not, and I hope everyone in the world will think about this. I will say one more thing: I think world officials should take the time to know what is going on with the children and how we see what is going on.
And I will say again, "With every minute we spend being angry and hating we are losing 60 seconds of joy, love, happiness, and most of all, peace."
