SalsaDoll is one of Whyville's most popular designers. In almost any chatroom, you'll find at least one person wearing her parts. Whether it be hair, eyes, shirts or accessories, all of her parts are very realistic and have a lot of detail. I was talking to her the other day and she was very kind. In my opinion, SalsaDoll is polite, modest and fun to talk to! I asked her some questions about herself. Here they are!
LilaStorm: How long does it take to make a part?
SalsaDoll: It depends on what I'm making and the amount of detail put into said part. Hair takes about 30 minutes on average. Sometimes longer, though.
LilaStorm: What's your favorite part you've made?
SalsaDoll: I really like Limelight Goddess and First Day of My Life. But I don't know! My favorites change rather frequently!
LilaStorm: Do you ever get tired of compliments?
SalsaDoll: Compliments are nice; however I am just a normal Whyvillian just like anyone else. Nothing special.
LilaStorm: Do you consider yourself the best designer on Whyville?
SalsaDoll: No. Everybody has different styles, and I absolutely love them! I really like kitadoll, kaylub, and crucifyme/lies/elmo007. But everybody who designs embodies a wonderful talent - there is no best designer. :)
LilaStorm: How do you feel when you see others wearing your parts?
SalsaDoll: I think it's cool! I push for diversity by making small quantities of each part, so it's neat to see people wearing all different parts.
LilaStorm: Do you enjoy designing?
SalsaDoll: It's what keeps me on Whyville, to be honest. When I don't have time to paint in real life, Whyville's face factory is my alternate therapy. :)
LilaStorm: What or who inspired you to design?
SalsaDoll: I don't know. I just like to express myself. My mom always told me to keep doing art, though. As did my high school art teacher.
LilaStorm: What's your least favorite part that you've made? (Please could you describe what it looks like?)
SalsaDoll: I don't know. I delete all the parts I don't like, so I can't say I remember them too well.
LilaStorm: Any tips?
SalsaDoll: Practice. Patience. Positivity. The three P's make a big difference when it comes to designing. Channel your creative energy, my friends! You can all become wonderful designers if you aspire to!
To all you budding designers, keep up the good work! My avatar needs more things . . . It sounds as if we can ALL be great designers, as long as we practice and persevere, almost regardless of ability. Don't give up hope just yet!
Author's Note: I want to thank SalsaDoll for giving such good replies!
