It holds up to 3 quadrillion gallons (yes, I said quadrillion!), contains 10% of all Earth's freshwater supply, and was home to the SS Edmund Fitzgerald shipwreck in 1975. That's right, I am talking about the largest freshwater lake by surface area in the world, Lake Superior! I took this photograph on the shoreline of this Great Lake last summer when I traveled to the northern peninsula in Michigan. I was amazed by this particular spot on the shore where the water was coming in much farther than any of the other areas. Always remember to appreciate nature because you never know when you will get the chance to see it again, folks!
