With the first day of summer coming up this Friday, you'll probably be out and about doing tons of fun activities with family and friends, and all the while you'll want to be wearing some snazzy looking outfits, of course! Although looking good may be a concern, an even bigger issue is usually going to be money. But you shouldn't let those pesky dollar signs cause you distress, because here we like to look good for less! Now that I've surely convinced you with my charming slogan, let's go grab those boxing gloves and do some price punching.
This week's money burning outfit combines a few turquoise and chocolate colored summer pieces to make one seriously expensive look. Lucky for us, finding more cost-friendly alternatives is always an option, as today's alternatives for each and every one of these items are $10.00 or less.
Looking at the Full Tilt T-Shirt, $8.00 is generally not all too terrible of a price for a top. However, when you're looking for a plain colored tee, you can almost always find something for under $5.00 with a little hunting. If material is of little concern to you, most supermarkets and craft stores offer a wide variety of great priced plain cotton t-shirts that can usually be found by the tie-dye materials, although they can also be found at almost any clothing store, such as Forever 21.
The classic pair of blue denim shorts is a must-have for any summer wardrobe, but there's never a need to let the price tags beat you down! Wet Seal is currently offering oodles of shorts for as low as $10.00 in a variety of colors and styles. This particular pair not only cuts the price of the YMI Minka shorts in more than half, but completely eliminates the cost of the belt altogether, as one already comes with the shorts, making for a pretty powerful punch!
Scarves don't have to be solely a winter accessory, so long as they're kept lightweight and colorful. Each of these scarves would be a great summer addition to liven up a dull outfit, but this knotted fringe scarf from Forever 21 does it for $20.00 less. Can I get a "K.O"?
I've really gotten into wedges lately, because they're great for those summer events where you want to look good and add some height while still being comfortable. I am absolutely pitiful with heels, and wedges are a great, more casual alternative. Doing some looking around, just about any shoe that gives you some height is going to have a heftier price tag than our lovely flats, but if you catch them on sale, you can get some pretty decent prices!
This Bueno Crocodile handbag is a wonderful cost-efficient option as opposed to the pricier yoox handbag. It's hard to beat $75.00 savings!
I actually chose this first bracelet for the outfit through searching on Polyvore, unaware of the already decent price. Surprisingly, I found a similar looking, yet slightly cheaper selection through the same store!. If a couple dollars isn't too bad of a leap for you, you can probably spring for either one, but here we always jump at a perfectly good punching opportunity!
Combining all of our day's savings together, we come up with this strikingly similar outfit with a punching power of $169.41. Not bad! Once again, it goes to show that no look should ever be out of reach! If there's ever an outfit you love but can't afford, chances are you can replicate it in a cheaper way by searching around your local malls and markets. Always remember to keep your fists up!
Author's Note: Now that you've followed along with "Price Punch" for a few weeks and have had some time to warm up to your brand new monetary fists of fury, I'd like you to help decide on the next victim! Is there any style or particular clothing item with a price tag you want to beat down? Send me a y-mail or let me know in the BBS comments.
