In response to Merchant's article "Saving the Animals," I have to say that I am offended. In no way would I ever be considered a vegetarian... but is there something so WRONG with that? I think the video thing of the squirrel is way beyond horrible and I probably would have protested that too, and I support you for being against that. But come on, "Don't praise the king of all that is evil, Ronald Mcdonald."(??) Sure, I like animals... but I don't really see anything wrong with eating a hamburger.

Cruelty against Animals. No Fun!
Hey! Flirt11 here and I want to talk to you about animals. More specifically, abused animals. For many years, animals have been used as "thrillers" to amuse crowds. But before these events such as circuses and horse races can take place, the animals are trained. There is nothing wrong with training animals. But when the animals do not meet the trainer's idea of quality, some are beaten, whipped, or worse. In January of 1808, slavery in the United States was abolished. But Webster's Dictionary definition of slavery is when someone (or in this case something) is owned and used without being paid. Sure, they are given food, water, shelter, and clothes -- but nothing more. Human slaves were not respected at all. Why should it be any different with animals? Next time that you are in a situation like this, think before you take action. Flirt11, over and out!
