Glee was one of my favorite television shows when it first came on air. I instantly fell in love with the storyline, the singing . . . and most of all the actor who played Finn Hudson; Cory Monteith. If I'm going to be completely honest with you, Cory was the main reason I bothered to watch the show. I was drawn to his looks, his acting, the fact that he was Canadian, and his voice. I LOVED his voice. A lot of people who disliked the show would say that the Glee version "ruined" classic songs. In my opinion, I sometimes preferred the Glee Cast version of a song all because of Cory Monteith's voice. In songs like "Jessie's Girl" and "Don't Stop Believing" Cory's voice made the songs.
I found out about Cory's death on Twitter the second it was confirmed. At first I thought it was some sort of a joke, or Twitter had created a trend faking someone's death. I was in shock. Although I had stopped watching Glee halfway through the second season, I never stopped loving Cory. His tweets would always make me smile such as his last tweet about a "Sharknado". But it was true. The happy, always smiling, always funny Cory Monteith had passed away from a drug overdose leaving countless fans heartbroken.
I drew this picture to try to celebrate Cory's impact on the world and all the smiles he brought through his little smirk, his jokes, his kindness, his love for the Canucks, his acting, his singing, his everything.
Rest in peace Cory Monteith, you're missed.
