Autumn, one of the most amazing times of year! The smell of the crisp air, the easily doable temperatures and, the best of all, the leaves changing colors! However, do you know why the leaves change colors during autumn? During this season, the time of sunlight during the day is shortened and the temperatures and night get cooler. This causes chlorophyll to not produce as often, which then causes other pigments in the leaves to start producing. These pigments cause the color of the leaves to go from a green to either a red, orange, yellow, purple or sometimes even a light brown. There are other factors that can determine what color the leaves turn to, including the species of tree and the amount of rainfall during the earlier seasons.
I was taking a drive one day in search of a road that had a "tunnel of trees" of magnificent colors. I double-checked to make sure the road was free of any vehicles before laying on the pavement to grab a few snapshots, of course! I thought this angle of being low to the ground would work the best, and I think it turned out pretty well!
