Modified Milk Ingredients?

What are we really eating? Hi, I am bettyjoe, here to ask a simple question: what is the food that we eat? Ok, it sounds dumb, but wait! I was looking at a package of some no-name cheese puffs and saw this list of ingredients. I'll shorten it up and only say a few:

  • cornmeal
  • hydrogenated canola oil
  • seasoning
  • modified cornstarch
  • salt
  • modified milk ingredients
  • hydrogenated soy bean oil
  • monosodium....

And the list goes ever on. What is most of this stuff we are eating, anyway? How can you "modify" milk "ingredients"? And I thought that milk was natural -- how can there be "ingredients"?

Sorry, but I was thinking, is this stuff that good for our body if we can't even pronounce them? Even on cereal, granola bars, and other stuff you think would be healthy, there are these big words! And what about the new spray you use to clean chemicals off of fruits and veggies with? Can you even be safe there? What kind of chemicals are used to clean off the chemicals?

Well sorry if I grossed you out, but I think that I'll just start to grow my own veggies and kill my own cows rather than eat this stuff. See ya later!

Bettyjoe~~

Editor's Note: Now that sounds like a hot investigative article! What is all this stuff in our food, and why is it there? Do you want to find out??
