Previously I had done a drawing of John Lennon in a cartoon form around 1965. This time, I decided to do a more realistic approach and used an image from when he was younger.
The photo was taken in 1963 by Leslie Bryce, and it's scanned from The Beatles Book Monthly, issue #143. (I did not scan it, I found it on a social networking site).
The materials I used were graphite drawing pencils, a small tortillion (shading stick), a kneading eraser, and a regular eraser. I changed the position of the eyes a little bit, but other than that I think it's pretty close to the original and I really like it.
Thanks for reading!
