Anyway, y'all, I'm here to deliver helpful hints for newbies all over Whyville! These tips were brought to my attention by being a cause of confusion for myself, and I'm sure, many other Whyvillians! So, without further ado...
When I am building my house on that green square, how do I turn my bricks???
This problem has a very simple solution! Even if you have put all of your bricks down and pressed rotate a million times! The solution is, rotate your bricks BEFORE you set them! And don't worry, if you have already laid all of your bricks, simply click on the one you want to rotate, (so it has those little white edges on it) and hit backspace (bkspce) on your keyboard. It will go back into the white partition on the right of your screen.
When I am picking my nose, and I go to strut my stuff in Whyville Square, my changes don't show up!
Solution one: There *might* be a bug at City Hall. For example, when I was a newbie, I couldn't change my face for the longest time. That bothered me so.... But; there is another way, my dear citizens, other than having another bug at City Hall, that does not allow you to show your beautiful face! (Also, there is no current bug as far as I know, so this next solution will have a more logical and likely reason.)
Solution two: You may have forgotten to press the done button after creating your face! If you do hit that button and wait for it to tell you thanks, your face will be saved in the city directory, in Whyville Square, and anywhere else in Whyville, even when you go back to re-do your face!
I don't want to wait for millions of years to take all of the stuff out of my face, doing each piece at a time... can't you just clear it?
There is a button to do just that! Clear your entire face right down to the very face itself! It is bright pink and located at the bottom right corner of the nose-picking box, beneath the "Done" button.
A person is swearing at me, and won't stop when I have asked them to. What do I do?
If a person is swearing at you non-stop, it is a good idea to go to the 911 call box to see what to do! It is located on the top left corner of your screen, just above your bus! It is the red booth that looks like a telephone, because it is! They tell you all about what to do in case of an emergency -- but always make sure that you get the name of your scammer or crook, and write it down so you can report him. I, myself, have not yet learned how to report any of the scammers I have encountered, but have y-mailed many y-helpers to find out how. And knowing me, the explanation is probably just at the bottom of the call box when you open it up! I'm a little slow that way sometimes... LOLZ! Just kidding, just kidding!
But seriously, folks...
If you have any more unanswered questions about almost anything in Whyville,
you can always y-mail a y-helper by going to your y-mail and clicking "new message". After this action, scroll down on your buddy list, indicated by: "To:". Click Y-Helpers, which is ALWAYS on the top of the scroll. Then it will take you to another screen and show you all of the y-helpers. Choose one of them by clicking on their face, and it will take you back to your original y-mail screen and have the y-helpers name in the "To:" box. Just type your message/question and send! It's that easy. (I know it took a long time to explain, but, I'm bored, and in the waiting room right now, so... you know how it is...)
