Imagine vanishing into thin air,
Your disappearance going unnoticed.
Pretend every person is unaware,
When you speak they are unfocused.
You feel quite confident today,
You raise your hand up high to reply.
The teacher is blind, to your dismay,
From your silent lips escapes a sigh.
Dejected, you stumble into class,
Wrought with absolute despair.
You ask the instructor for a pass,
No answer, as if you were not there.
Days fly by, the same old song,
A sorrowful melody without a tune.
You feel invisible, time moves along,
Until a change one day at noon.
You walk into a familiar room,
The air smells brand new,
No longer full of gloom,
Something is certainly askew.
Your peers eagerly wave,
The teacher smiles as you sit,
Attention for which you crave,
Came when you least expected it.
In choir you receive a prize,
To your family the professor boasts,
And finally you realize,
You are no transparent ghost.
Sometimes you may feel deflated,
Sometimes you might feel unknown.
But there is a reason you were created,
You are magnificent, and never alone.
