Soon we'll be able to communicate through the past
To share the truths with our youth
You'd be guaranteed protection from all the things gone wrong
You'd have no regrets, and every hard lesson would already be learned
Wouldn't it be great to save yourself
before you even realize you're about to fall?
Wouldn't it be a better life
if we were given a warning before it all?
But like anything when we're young; there's innocence to preserve
A warning would shatter hope,
Destroy faith,
Annihilate both the good and bad to come from the problem
And like anyone that's oblivious
Their eyes are closed in a deep slumber
Away from reality . . .
So even though we have the power
We eventually decide to tuck them in,
Turn off the lights,
Break all the lessons we know,
And whisper only that they be strong
All in due time,
We let the truth rest.
