And I swore I felt my heart beat faster,
my heart raced,
chasing after you in the midnight blue,
my face flushed,
and I felt whole.
That was all you,
you made me complete.
And to this day,
that is all I ever was and will be,
when I see you.
Whole.
Inside,
out,
my beating heart will rise and fall in my chest.
The stars seem to align when you look into your eyes.
But the thing is . . .
The others don't understand,
we haven't made it yet,but what's being at the top of the mountain when you don't even remember the climb?
It's our life,
so there's no need for anyone to understand besides us.
Let's just continue down this untraveled rode,
and see where it leads us, whether it's good, bad, unforgettable, or exciting.
Just promise to keep me whole,
don't break my fragile heart.
It's held in your hands,
you're the only one that can mend it if it's broken,
and make it whole again.
Author's Note: This poem cuts close to the core for me and it was very personal, but I want feedback on it so if you'd please comment about it or write a review on BBS I'd very much appreciate it.
