Portraits, portraits, portraits. They seem to be the only thing I draw, and what can I say? It's because I love it. I'm fascinated by facial features, shading, the blending of different colours to find that perfect skin tone . . . I have trouble when I meet new people because sometimes all I can think is "Hmmm that would be one interesting face to draw!"
I've drawn countless portraits in different mediums, but my favourite medium to work in would be Prismacolour pencil crayons. I had steered away from using them for a while, AND away from drawing portraits since I'm attending an Art University and we were working on far too large of a scale and too short of a time period in between projects for pencil crayons to be a practical choice. Also the projects didn't exactly provide me with an opportunity to draw my portraits. But it's a new year and a new instructor and I can once again pursue my creepy love of drawing faces.
So here is one portrait to share with you. Some of you may recognize this face, as it is Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy.
Save Rock and Roll.
