Again, the Hot Topics section in the Summer Solstice issue was really cool. I really loved all of the articles, because it's a cool debate anyway! First of all, Giggler01's views that she expressed in her article are so much like mine. Definitely an awesome article!
But, I must respond to Liss22's article called What Is Cruelty? Well, recently I talked to the guy that did the dissection and asked him if he found it dead, or killed it himself. He answered, rather boastfully, that he killed it. You see, I feel that there is nothing wrong with finding the animal dead and then dissecting it or whatever. But he killed it himself, so it makes a world of difference!
Next, I was sort of angry after I read IloveAG's views in her article. First of all, she said that we as humans are smarter than animals. First of all, we ARE animals! And why are any more valuable than a pig? Also, IloveAG stated that we as vegetarians are not helping anything. So then, IloveAG, you are saying that a group of people cannot change the world. Then they're would be NO change in the world, right? Fact is, if everyone stopped eating meat, it would no longer be sold. And we could save plenty of adorable cows and pigs. I was thrilled with her last comment, on not buying the rabbit feet, that was a good point.
Whew! One more thing... for a lot of people, it's against their religion to eat meat or certain kinds of it. In my religion, you cannot eat pig. And many of my friend are Hindi, so they can't eat cow. So vegetarianism goes a while back in history! Just a tidbit of information for you.
Merchant, going to get a veggie burger...
Editor's Note: I'm curious, did you ever wonder why certain religions maintain different kinds of vegetarianism? Bet the answers would surprise you... and make a great article for somebody to write!
