Hey, this is Gone142, writing an article on animal cruelty. As many of you Times readers know, there has been an Animal Cruelty Section for the past week or two in the paper. If you enjoy this article and agree and might want to write some articles of your own on this subject, then be sure to read the rest of the Animal Cruelty Section! There are many views and suggestions there.
What I want to talk about is how some owners have the guts to be abusive to their OWN animal or any other animal. Every time you hit or hurt an animal, they will remember what happened, so don't think that you can abuse your animal and the next day it will be your best friend! You have to be kind.
I know some people who leave their dog out in storms and the worst weather that we get here in Newfoundland -- that's really bad weather! Well, sometimes. It breaks my heart to see the owners even sometimes hitting their dog because it got loose from its chain. Sometimes I feel like I want to go up to the owner and just freak on him.
I have a dog of my own and when I step on his paw by accident with my shoes on or if I accidentally lead him into a tree when I'm walking him (don't ask, LoLz) I always, always talk to him in a crooning voice and pet him around the ears (his favorite spot). But some people are really, really cruel to their pets and hit and abuse them in many ways like always leaving it outside, never feeding it, hitting it, etc.
If you know a case that is really serious with animal cruelty, you should call the police or a local animal shelter and they will take care of the problem with a great solution!
I am so mad that people could actually do this, but it does happen and it is disgusting!
