Don't Be Clueless, Be Shoeless!

I would like to add my opinion to the "Animal Cruelty Section". I myself
am a vegetarian. I became one because my favourite animal is the cow, and
I could hardly bear to see it treated so badly. Like Giggler01 said, I don't have a
problem if they are caught for survival... but we cage them!! I plan to be a
"rabbit", as some people call us, for quite some time, if not forever. I really
appreciate the Whyville Times for putting up this section so maybe more people out
there will be inspired to do the right thing.
The reason why some people won't go vegetarian is because they believe
"animals are here for us to eat... we're on the top of the food chain now,
aren't we?" Firstly, if animals ARE here for us, then why don't we eat
cheetahs, giraffe, dogs, wolves, monkeys or bears? How come we often stick
to cows and pig? We don't eat dog because they're pets, you say? Well, guess what, they
weren't made to be pets!! They are supposed to live out in the wild. Of
course, now they've adapted to this lifestyle, but it's not their original home.
The food chain! Ah-hah, too many people think were on top of the food chain and so we
are supposed to eat meat. But really, WE HUMANS CREATED THE FOOD CHAIN! We defined it, didn't we? So we would probably be on top anyhow.
Actually, nowadays we have so much technology that we can supply all of
the iron and protein that people need by pills. Fewer people have to have the guilt of the
poor animals caged and slaughtered, oh what a lifestyle!
Leather is another issue, but another article as well. :P
And don't worry, I ain't gonna go away singing "MEAT IS MURDER" or "EGGS ARE
LIQUID BIRD", but I will go away.
