Counter Racism

Hi, this is moongirl9 here, with a little something to tell you about. Now, we've all heard of racism, right? Well, I saw something at the Pool Party that was a little out of the ordinary. I won't mention names, but here it goes:

There were two African-American boys at the Pool Party, both dressed alike. Someone just commented about their being dressed the same, and they blew up. They started to be very rude to this person, even though he hadn't done anything wrong. Then, he said something like, "All I was saying was that you guys look the same," and then they were nasty again. They said things like, "Yeah, that's right, all blacks look the same, don't we?" and he hadn't done anything wrong!!

Now, I'm not saying that I have everything down word-for-word, this is just my interpretation of the situation. If anyone has information with which they would correct me on that matter, I would gladly hear it.

I just hope that things don't continue like this, to the point where people are rudely accusing other people of crimes he or she hasn't even come close to committing, because if they do, Whyville won't be much fun for anyone.

Also, if any of you people think that doing things like this is fun and that teasing and taunting other people is the best way of spending your weekend, you are wrong. I don't know what put that thought into your sick-minded little heads, but you are wrong. Don't even try to make up excuses, because there is no excuse for things like this. And if you say, "But... but people tease me, so why shouldn't I tease them too?" that's no excuse, either. I have been teased by people ever since I moved (for the fifth time, no exaggeration), but do I tease people? No, I do not. Now, I know that I have gone slightly off the topic I started with, but I don't care. I think both are equally important issues.

Also, if any of you out there think that I am going overboard, that is your opinion, and I respect it, but it will not stop me in my efforts against racism and teasing. If anyone has any comments, positive or negative, Y-Mail me. I'll listen. I won't just delete your mail without reading because it may be negative. That's another important issue: Discrimination, judging people by the way they look, judging them before you even know them. Some of you may wonder how I squeezed discrimination out of a negative letter. I got discrimination out of that because deleting a message just because the beginning is bad is just like deciding you don't like someone from the way they look. You will never find out if there is anything good deeper down.

I think I've said enough.
Times Editor, please accept this.

This is a very disgusted moongirl9, signing off.
