The NEW! Safety Crew

Snoocumz
Guest Writer

Hello to all my fellow Whyvillians! Snoocumz here and I am writing today about yet again, crime. Since the NEW! idea about the Safety Crew was released, I expect that an immense amount of 911 reports have been flowing in.

Of course you would like to be an important part of Whyville and help the great people behind Whyville keep our city safe. But the question that keeps popping up in my head is: "Are people just using this to get at their enemies?" Being of course, a more important citizen as a member of the Safety Crew, I think that a few members of this crew would attempt to use their position in society to banish or punish their long-time hated ones.

Another point that I am making is that people just might want to become a part of this crew and then never patrol. Such a citizen may go 911 crazy when the competition is running and then never do it again once they've actually joined the crew. All these points are crucial and must be taken into serious consideration if you are thinking about joining.

So, if you are really set on joining this crew, remember NO (zilch) NO, NO false 911 reports and be honest to yourself, asking: "Will I really be helping Whyville by joining this crew, or am I just filling up a special spot which someone better could do the job of?"

My point is, I really would like this crew to work, and if you are thinking about joining, please be sure that it is because you want to keep Whyville safe.

This is me... disappearing... slowly... fading... away....

Note from City Hall: Thanks for your thoughts, snoocumz. I'm happy to report that since the try-outs for the patrol team started, there have been more report, but the quality of the reports have NOT gotten worse. In fact, it's gotten better! That being said, I completely agree with the advice you are giving here. We've never tried this in Whyville before, so it's a big experiment. I sure hope it'll work well, but if it doesn't, we'd have to terminate it. But, we'll never know until we try!
