Democracy on Whyville, Safe?

Hi, kiska here! I have to say that I totally agree with LuDi in her article: "Democracy=Danger?" I think that the idea of an elected Whyville government is interesting, but it would be very, very dangerous.

We can't just trust anyone with the job. On the internet, you can never know who people really are. The leader we select could be a stalker, for all we know. The truth is, I don't think we can trust anyone with such an important job.

Think about it. That person would get all our information. Our passwords, e-mail addresses... the list goes on. Even if we can trust this person with that type of information, how can we be sure that this person won't be hacked? As you can see, it would be very dangerous.

Not only would a Whyville election be dangerous, but it would also turn into a popularity contest. And I don't think that being popular automatically makes you the best for the job. There would be lots of great people trying who wouldn't get a chance just because they aren't the most popular.

So in my opinion, we should stick with City Hall and the rest of the city workers. Besides, they made this site, and they should be the ones to make the decisions.

This is kiska, signing off...
