Hi everyone! This is KweenB15 and I have been reading the articles on
cruelty to animals and I thought I would share my own opinion! Okay, I am
against cruelty to animals only up to a certain point. I am not a die-hard
vegetarian and never plan on becoming one. I mean, if you think about if all
of a sudden everyone decided that eating animals was wrong and going
vegetarian was right, do you realize just how many animals we would have on
our planet! The numbers would be unreal!
When people get to the point where they are cruel to animals just to have
"fun", you know something is wrong in our world. For example, when I was
reading our local newspaper, I was appalled by an article I read! In Missouri, a man was arrested for allegedly burning an innocent KITTEN on a barbecue grill as people stood around, watching and laughing. Now that is just going way too far!
A witness pulled the 7 week old scorched tabby from the coals, but it was severely injured. The spectators kept on saying, "Meow, Meow," and were poking it with a stick.
Appropriately, the man was charged with animal abuse and faces up to five years in
prison. He is also being charged $5,000 U.S. (that's over $7,000 Canadian, and still not enough!).
This is a disgusting story and shows an example of horrid abuse to innocent animals. This was an innocent kitten and it did not deserve this treatment at all. KUDOS go to the woman that saved this poor kitty.
Animal cruelty is wrong in many different ways. I hope this gets published
(please, please) so that everyone can see what kind of sick treatment of animals is going on in our world today.
