Hey!! This is 8CuTiE8 and this is my article on road kill! :(
I went camping on the weekend with my uncle and dad and sister and cousin! And we went to DQ (Dairy Queen(tm)).
Anyway, on the way, we saw a dead gopher on the road -- we just saw a van run over it! =(
My mean dad went and looked at it and said, "Look at that gopher doing the funky chicken! He just got run over and now he's getting wacked out!" :( I was like, "Ohh my god, where!!?"
He was on the road there, and I was saying, "Ooh my god!" but my cousin and my sister were laughing and saying, "Dumb gopher!!"
I yelled at them, "Ooooh you meanies, how would you feel!!??" But they said, "Haha, oh well, it's funny!"
Then, my mean dad went and backed up on it and it was squished to the ground and every one laughed but me.
I looked at everyone and then I started crying my head off. I put my head down and cried, and my sister laughed, "Oh my god, she's crying!" I was saying, "Go away, meany," but they just kept laughing!! :'(
Then every one got out of the car and told the rest of our family while I was in the truck crying my eyes out!! :(
Finally, my uncle came to me and opened the truck door and said, "Hey! Hey!! Why are you crying?"
I didn't answer. Then he said, "Honey, it's okay. Think about it. He was dead because of that van, and your dad did the right thing. He ran right over it so he wouldn't suffer any more, because he was still alive a little bit and he was in pain, so your dad took him out of his misery. And there's millions of gophers getting killed on the roads. When I go to work there's about twelve on the side of the road... but that's life, and that's how life goes. I'm sorry."
Then I said, "But it's sad looking at it like that."
Then he said, "It's okay. I know how you feel." Then he left.
I learned something very special that day. So, if you see animals dying, it's for a purpose; well, most of the time. :( Anyway, I'm an animal lover and I feel bad for all animals, but people die, too, and people don't start making articles about people dying -- so yes, it's sad, but it's kinda LIFE!
