Whyville Poet
Life is like a street
You start out at a crawl
You're still learning to find your way
You have to learn to take care of yourself
To learn to walk
There's no shortcuts
It's a one-way street
You set a pace and gradually increase pace
You know your way and don't need directions
You don't get lost as much now
There's not as many accidents anymore
But slowly you decrease your steps
You wish there were a faster way
It's too hard now
and then you start to crawl again
It's the end
Then the road branches
And you set off into a dirt road
It's easier
It's prettier
It cares more
It's not the end
It never ends

It never ends
