My View on Body Image

I think that the Health Section is a really great addition to the
Whyville times. We only have one body to live our life in and we need to take
care of it. Having the health section will increase awareness of health in
the Whyville community. Whyvillians will be able to explore areas like the
human body, vitamins and minerals, exercising, and hygiene. Also, it will go
well with the addition of the soon-to-come food aspect of Whyville. But I
think an area of health that is overlooked is mental health. It is a part of
health and needs to be discussed as well as nutrition.
One thing that I think we as a people focus to much on is body image and
type. And a lot of that comes from the fact that most celebrities are all
very skinny and glamorous, thanks to the help of a lot of make-up, their
exercising, and eating right. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for
celebrities and famous people. Not a lot of people can handle have the press
in your face and pleasing your fans 24/7.
Everyone is different and has a different personality and body type. But
everyone is beautiful. They are perfect the way God made them. No one should
be made fun of the way they look on the outside because we all know,
hopefully (and I do love hope! :-D), that it is what's on the inside that counts. Everyone is looking for a place in the world where they feel special, and they feel like the fit in and belong, and where they feel safe to be themselves.
But you also have to realize that you are beautiful. If you never do, no
one else will either. Just hold your head high and be proud of the way you
look. Self image counts for a lot. If you don't love yourself, there is no way
you can love anyone else. I doubt you can enjoy the great blessing of life
and of having a spirit if you don't respect yourself and believe that you are
beautiful. But there is always time for you to improve yourself in order to
improve the way you see yourself.
You are all beautiful! Hoping you are healthy,
