Bad hair day. My Chicken Butt hair cut is really looking like a Chicken Butt. And speaking of chickens, I am wondering now if there are any good books about chickens... (It is early in the morning, and I need some sugar to sustain me, so please bear (bare???) with me.)

Okay, well, seeing as I was up most of the night reading, I decided to write an article about some good books. I had to stop and think about which good ones I had read lately, and seeing as I read more then I write (if you can believe that), this is not going to be a hard article to put together!

I have discovered at harrypotterfans.net that the next Harry Potter book will most likely not be out until the fall of 2003! To sustain you hardcore Potter fans, I recommend reading the book Atremis Fowl and its sequel, Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident, both by Eoin Colfer.

These books are about a 12 year-old boy who is a criminal mastermind. In an attempt to get rich fast, he hatches a plan to steal money from The People, a society of magical folk living underground.

When I asked my mom to pick up the second book after work one day, she had to go check out who had written it, and she found one review that described it as the movie "Die Hard" with Fairies! I really liked these books, and they are without a doubt an adequate substitute for Potter.

A series that I am reading (although not yet complete) is "A Series of Unfortunate Events" by Lemony Snicket. There is intended to be 13 books in the series, but so far only eight have been published. (And when you are done with those, you may want to read Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography.)

This is the story of three children -- Violet, Klaus and Sunny -- whose parents die in a tragic fire and leave them quite a fortune. They are followed everywhere by Count Olaf, who is trying to steal their fortune. Their guardians are often fairly ditzy and therefore not of much help, and the same can be said for Mr. Poe, who deals with their property and guardians.

Although these books are described as extremely sad, they have many funny events and people in them. I know several people who have enjoyed reading them.

The last books I will recommend are also a great choice for Harry Potter fanatics. I would suggest reading books by the author Dianna Wynne Jones. I have read most of them, although she has quite a few published. My favorites were The Chrestomanci Series and Archer's Goon.

Well, the light at the end of the tunnel is burning, so I must dash fairly quickly, but before I do, I recommend the site www.teenreads.com for people that would like some good books! This is Giggler01 and the light has officially burned out, I guess that means I'm done!
