What Defines Prejudice?

Hi again, Whyvillians. This is smileNOW here with an update on my latest article, published about QUISP. When I say that I am disgusted with his lifestyle, I didn't mean HIM. Now, I have talked to many people who agree with my article and they are all very nice and I appreciate their support, but... there are others around who don't seem to feel that way, and who aren't expressing their disagreement very... politely, I guess. For example, I got a VERY threatening email from someone... it was entitled "ignoramous", and here's how it went:

Hello ignoramous. Why did I call you that? Because that is who you are. I know you think youre God, since you CLAIM to know everything. But, little girl, you know nothing of the world you live in.

You think being gay is wrong? Why is this? Are YOU gay? See, the only way I would accept your claim about gay being a "choice", is if you were actually gay. I have a brother who is gay, and he comes on Whyville too. I've asked him if him being gay was a choice. He said no. QUISP even said to you that it wasn't a choice. DUH! Doesn't this tell you something!? Wouldn't the people who actually ARE gay know better than you, an inexperienced ignorant ----- who thinks she is God?

I am discusted too...AT YOU!! you have NO RIGHT to say what is wrong and what is not. Is being gay a threat with you?! IS IT!? Does it harm you in any way!? SO WHAT DO YOU HAVE AGAINST IT!? I am unimpressed with your lack of sensitivity, in your artice you made QUISP ( a very nice and intelligent PERSON) seem like an object. (Oh, and just a note, if he has a mom and dad, chances are he ISNT raised my gay people, K!?)

What you demonstrate is prejudice. It is the same thing to be "discusted" of a gay person, as it is to be of a black person, etc. Think before you talk. Because you didnt think while you wrote that article, because all that came out of your mouth from that was dirt. WATCH IT, someone might just bug you some day saying something is wrong when it might not be. What will you do then? If you want to say anything to my feelings about you, BRING IT ON.

I just wanted to address the author of this y-mail and all those who feel like her. I do NOT think that I am God, by no means. I do believe in God, and I love Jesus, but NO, I do not think that I am GOD. Where the author got this idea from I just don't know. No, I am not gay, and I know that being gay is wrong. That is what I believe. If you don't believe that, then I accept that, OK? Can you?

First of all, I feel that my article was very kind while still stating how QUISP and I felt about the same things, and how those two are totally opposite. Secondly, you have your own opinion and I appreciate the fact that you can share it so kindly, but insulting my intelligence is no way to help anybody. That just makes me angry. What I believe is NOT prejudice; prejudice is against the PERSON. I love QUISP just like I love everyone else on this planet, but I do NOT love his lifestyle. OK? So you are wrong of accusing me of being prejudiced. If anything, I'm afraid you are being prejudiced because you obviously don't like ME for my opinions. You can certainly disagree with them, but I can definitely say your ymail goes further than simple disagreement. Please, everyone, if you want to tell me your point of view and how it's different from mine, be nicer next time! I want to hear your opinions, I truly do, but I don't like to be insulted.

Thanks again, Whyvillians,
smileNOW
