Bonus Time

It is about three days before my first day back to school and I haven't got any of my school supplies (except my school uniform, if you would like to count that). I don't know about you, but I am not looking forward to hitting the books for yet another year. Oh well, I suppose that is the life of a teenager.

Anyway. How many times do you see people saying, "Could I have some clams?" or "I am short of clams, could you help me out?" No doubt that it happens a lot. However, did you know that there are ways to earn free clams? That is right, folks. Notice the word free. I can just see the goosebumps form on your neck because of the excitement you are feeling right now. So, if you notice that your bank account is low, or you might be a shopaholic, pay attention to this article because you just might learn a thing or two to help rescue your ledger.

Have you ever visited Whyville's place for Currency Exchange? I actually did that today. It was the location that inspired me to write this article. While you are trying to raise your salary for the Treasure Hunt, you visit several places across the globe. At each location, you receive money from whatever place you are at. For example, if you are in Canada or the United States you will be given a dollar. If you are in Italy you will be given a lira, and if you are visiting India you will be handed a rupee. Did you know that you can exchange these coins into clams at the Currency Exchange? The only trick is that you have to decide how many clams you want. On the left side of the Currency Exchange place is a chart that explains how many of each coin converts into a clam. You must follow those directions to ensure that you getting the most for your money. But be warned, the workers at the Currency Exchange know if you are ripping them off!

Many of you probably know about the Bonus Ledger located in your black ledger book. So far, there are eight different opportunities to earn free clams with the bonus ledgers. The Why-Wise Parent Bonus is fairly simple. All you have to do is fill out a form with your parents and mail it to City Hall. This tells the Whyville workers that your parents and/or guardians are accepting of you chatting online. They are informed about the policies of Whyville, as well.

Many of the other bonus opportunities only happen at certain times, such as the Solstice Safari Clam Bonus. This gives you 80 extra clams. The Safari only happens two times a year, during the summer and again during the winter at the times of the Solstice and the Equinox. You could do a fair bit of shopping with the clams you earn from this.

You could say that getting involved is exceptionally helpful in gaining clams. Have you ever tried to race someone in the Smart Cars Arena? Sometimes it is a long process, but pays off in the end. At the end of the week, the top ten racers (who haven't turned down a race) are awarded with huge clam bonuses. The good thing about this is that the winners differ each week. It depends on how well you do. You can earn as much as 200 clams. Another benefit of racing is receiving your own racer's license.

Don't forget designing. Although it takes a fair chunk of money out of your own pocket, if you are good enough, people will buy your products. There are several extremely talented individuals on Whyville who design. If you are looking to begin designing your own face parts but don't know where to get started, check out the articles Akbar's Face Factory by Vanilla and Tips for the Face Factory by Googles, two of Whyville's most famous designers and veteran citizens. Good Luck!

So, the next time that you may be short of clams, think again. You just haven't found the right places to look yet. Take a peek at the Currency Exchange place and sell some of those coins from around the world. Look at the Bonus Ledger and have a chat with your parents. Take part in the Winter Solstice Safari, which will be happening in a few months. Get involved and get motivated, and those are the tips to Whyville success.

Later days,
TIKE
