Canadians and Australians

meg959 and SallyBabe
Guest Writers

Hello, it's meg959 from Canada, and Sallybabe from Australia. We are here today to talk about the differences in our countries. First of all, the times are different. Australia is about 14 hours apart from Canada. Second, the seasons are different. When Canadians are playing outside in the snow, Australians are heading to the beach for a swim, and vice versa.

Something that is also different in both countries is the language. We are going to translate some of the language from Australia. Australians and Canadians both speak English, but Australia has some different ways to say some common words. Here are some that are quite easy to remember:

English Australian
Hello G'Day
Friend Mate
Sandwich Sanga
Dead Horse Tomato Ketchup
Hit the Frog and Toad Hit The Road

Even though Canadians and Australians are 14 hours apart and have different languages (well sorta), it doesn't mean that we are totally different!! Just because you are from a different country doesn't mean you're totally different!!!

That's it, until next time.
