A Day in the Life of Bessie/George

Shalee
Whyville Storyteller

Hello Whyville, this is Shalee, resident Jokester, Part-Maker, Doctor, and over-all just your average Whyvillian! But today, I'm your friendly neighborhood Storyteller.

I'm going to tell you a story about Bessy/George. I know there have been issues over this. Is it a he or she, is it even alive? Well, I recently talked to Bessy/George and here's her story. His story... its story... whatever.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF BESSY/GEORGE

At 6:00am Whyville time, Bessy/George wakes up for another day full of saving drowning victims' lives, listening in on their conversations (very interesting!), and just sitting there, smiling and filling us up with happiness.

Bessy/George is tired every morning he/she wakes up. The reason for this is that even though he/she goes to bed at 10:00pm Whyville time, there are always people at the Pool making noise and keeping him/her awake! But, nevertheless, he/she still wakes up on time for a day of hardcore life saving.

Bessy/George plays an important role in our society. As a floaty toy, his/her job is to paddle around and save the people that go flying off the slide too fast and are at risk of drowning. An anonymous Whyvillian has asked me to thank Bessy/George for saving her life more than once.

At 1:00pm Whyville time, Bessy/George has an hour off for lunch and to take a nap. Please try not to get into trouble while Bessy/George is off-duty.

Mostly, Bessy/George wants to thank all the Whyvillians for recognizing him/her every once and a while. Even if it is only a short article here, a picture of him/her there. He/She enjoys looking after us in the pool and hanging around us.

"Thanks to everyone for their moral support and their undying faith in me. I appreciate all that has been done for me and I enjoy looking after all of you. Please, if you're at the pool between 10:00pm and 6:00am Whyville time be quiet and stay out of trouble so I can be at my best during the day. I love listening to you guys, keep coming to the pool!!"
