An0nymous here again. Editor, PLEASE publish this, this is the 4th or so article I've written about this subject, and even though it isn't an issue in the Times at the moment, I think it's about time people smarten up in Whyville.
Newbies... newbies... newbies.... EVERYONE, leave them alone! I get extremely annoyed when you guys tease or make fun of the "newbies". It also annoys me when you guys call people newbies when in fact you YOURSELF are a newbie.
I was in the pool the other day with my friend, Bracelet. And this other girl said, "I hate newbies." So I proceeded to ask her when she had joined Whyville, and she responded with, "In May or so."
Do you not think that girl was a newbie? Well, she thought she wasn't because she had face parts and clams, so she didn't believe she was a newbie. She asked her friends, and they also disagreed. But friends agree with friends. I've been here for 2, almost 3 years on my old name, ToMMyGrL. I don't belittle the "newbies" and people who are actually YOUNGER than the supposed newbies. It's just not worth anybody's time to do that.
I don't like when I hear, "Get off you stupid newbie." It doesn't please me. Especially when I go to check the records of the accuser and the person they are calling a "newbie". When I see that the accuser joined 06/23/02 (mm/dd/yy) and the "newbie" joined 02/12/01 (mm/dd/yy). Is that "newbie" not older? And does it matter, anyway?
So as an end to my article, please, don't belittle people because you think you are "better off" (because you have better/more face parts and more clams). If I see you belittling someone, you'll hear what I need to say. And for people who are being harassed, just y-mail me.
Sincerely,
An0nymous
P.S. Did I mention that this could be considered harassment?
Harassment:1. To irritate or torment persistently.
That's like making fun of someone because they are of a different race, culture, religion or religious beliefs. You're making fun of someone because they are new, is that not harassment?
P.P.S. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I hope you learned something.
