It's an0nymous, yet again. Lately my articles have been nothing but complaints, although most have yet to be published (if they ever will be). Oh, well.
COURTESY: noun. Inflected forms: pl. -sies.
1. a. Polite behavior.
You might be wondering why I would in fact just put one of the many definitions of courtesy in my article... you shall see.
To be courteous is to be polite.
When you are in Whyville and you need to "be right back", if it's for maybe a minute or two, that's fine. But, what if you say, "BRB in 10 minutes". Ten minutes? Don't you think that's a little much? It would be COURTEOUS to go up to the top of the screen until you come back, so someone could get a "good" seat in the chat area of Whyville.
When someone gets in a room and sits on someone else, the first person can't see the second, so why say vulgar things to them when they can't see you? If they could see you, they wouldn't have been able to go to the place you were sitting, unless you both went there at the same time. It's COURTEOUS to ask the person politely to get off of you; don't shout or be vulgar. It will only provoke the other person. I've done all of these things many times, and it took until now for me to realize how it may annoy and anger people.
I won't even get on the topic of newbies. I've run my mouth off many times in my articles about that.
