Hi, this is the first thing I have ever sent in so I don't really know the drill, but here goes:
I have noticed in many articles people state their opinions. Now, I am on the debate and newspaper teams at my school, and I think I know a little about why this is so wrong. I was reading the debate discussions, and someone said very plainly that being gay was wrong and a choice. Well.....
In a debate, you use facts and references as your strongest weapons -- an opinion, on the other hand, is what makes many people lose their debate. It's nice to know what you think, but can you prove your position really is better with more than your opinion? Also, using people's names, singling them out, etc. is just plain rude and improper. Ask their permission first before using them as an example.

I came up with a pretty cool idea for a debate club! If we could reserve the city hall lobby, or the auditorium at a certain time of the week (preferably Saturdays, because I have school during the week, LOL) for two debate teams. You could have something similar to how the disco is set up (or maybe we could use the Disco, or the Club Why Lounge); thus, the location would be reserved for debate teams.
The teams would be like the Solictice Safari, where people sign up to be on teams, and
the Disco, where it's reserved for certain people at certain times, put together. See what I mean?
I'm not really sure how hard that would be, but it doesn't really involve a lot of graphics or anything like that, so it shouldn't be too hard. The main thing is how Whyvillians respond to the idea! What do you think?
