Hey everyone! OoreganoO here! I just check the poll both in the Times today and I saw some quite interesting results. They were sorta... well, kind of... what's the word... well, I guess, a bit silly.
The first poll in the poll results says, "1000000000000000000000000000 Clam's a day" I will not mention whom it was by.
Think about it. I know we all might want that many clams, I know I sure do, but if we got that many clams a day, Whyville just wouldn't be Whyville anymore. I don't know exactly how high you can make your salary, but I think it is around 100 or something. Imagine if everyone got 1000000000000000000000000000 clams a day!
In Whyville, you work for your salary, and try to raise it as high as you can. If you have a really high salary that's great, if you have a low salary, well, that's not the point. The point of salaries is so we can learn how to budget, work for what we have and how to handle money.
I saw another poll, I think the week before, about copyrights. I can't quite recall what the exact title was. Someone said that if you work really hard on a part it is really disappointing to see that someone has copied it. Yes, at first I totally agreed with that, but now that you think about it, what would Whyville be like if we had copyrights?
What would probably happen would be that everyone would make parts and copyright them and if someone made something even close without knowing it, they would probably report them or whatever you would do. Everyone would copyright all their parts, so eventually you couldn't make any parts anymore!
