When we were younger
We'd play in the park
We'd stay there all day
until it got dark
We'd laugh and joke and make up stupid songs
I can't believe we did that all day long

As we got older, our interest evolved.
From coloring & toys
to boy problems we couldn't solve.
We'd hang out all day
and talk on the phone
We were always together
We were never alone.

But then school started and it wasn't the same
We hardly hung out
But who could we blame?
We went to different schools
and hung out with a different crowd
I think our neighbours like it this way
It's not as loud

Soon the calling stopped and all was delayed
I sit here watching our friendship fade
Quietly, I wonder if this is the end
But I will always consider you my best friend.
