Hello! This is Blink1828 (if you didn't read the little taggy thingy under my picture)! I'm going to talk about a controversial topic: the way singers dress.
I was watching TV the other day when a music video came on. It was Christana Aguilera with her song, Dirty. I don't know what everyone else thinks, but in my opinion, she has an amazing voice. Before, she wasn't one of those stars who wore very, well, revealing clothing. People would remember her voice, not the image. But when I saw how she was dressed in this video, I was disgusted. Now, when I think of her, I don't hear her voice, I see her clothes.
It's sad that she has resorted to dressing the way she does. Sure, her song is called "Dirty", but she doesn't need to look the way she does. Singers are role models for many girls -- what kind of image are they giving girls? And what are boys supposed to think of them?
This leads me to my next point. The way girls are dressing. I see 11-year olds wearing make up, 12-year olds showing belly buttons and 10-year olds wearing tube tops. Why? This is Whyville, so someone tell me why.
These girls have the rest of their lives to dress like this. If they are dressed down so much now, imagine what they are going to look like in their teenage years. My point is, you've got your whole life to grow up, so do just that! Don't try and act a whole lot older than you are; cherish the moments you have. Before you know it, you'll be all grown up.
Maybe you'll realize you grew up too fast.
'C ya round,
