Hey! Miaumiau speaking here about something unfair. Let's say someone dressed up normally one day and then the exact opposite the next day -- well, to see the results, I did a little bit of experimentation and this is what I found.
I dressed up normally and lots of people talked to me, wanting to be friends, etc. Then, to test this friendliness, I went and made myself so that I wouldn't look too different, but I would stand out from the crowd. I wore some normal stuff and I added a tie and big earrings, which are not normal, and this time only one or two people came up to me to say hi or ask for help.
Then I pushed it up another step and transformed myself totally. Even some of my friends were acting kind of weirdly. A while back I had a friend who would dress up as a goth to get other goths to talk to her -- except then people wouldn't talk to her.
It's like someone is forbidding people from talking to "other" people. I am reminded of some kind of invisible barrier.
I find this rude and improper behavior. If you want to make Whyville better, then start being nicer to others.
Signing off and hoping to get this article published,
Miaumiau.
