Just the other day, someone said to me, "Ughhh, get some good face parts, you look like a newbie." Well, I thought about that, and I wondered, what does a newbie look like?
To me, a newbie face is one of those round faces with black eyes and a black smile that you get from Whyville if you don't go to Grandma's or buy parts on your own. However, I didn't have one of those! What did this person mean when he said to me, "You look like a Newbie"?
I decided to do some research with some of the oldest Whyvillians around.
I first talked to Bballstar, who has been in Whyville over a year.
Me: What does a newbie look like, to you?
Bballstar: A new person in Whyville who shouldn't be teased just because they're starting out. I have a lot of newbie friends.
Me: No, no, no What does a newbie LOOK like to you?
Bballstar: A happy face!
Next, I talked to BaByErIc8 (he has also been on Whyville for at least a year).
Me: What does a newbie look like to you?
BaByErIc8: Ugly, now buzz off.
Me: Can you describe one?
BaByErIc8: No, leave me alone! (Shows how nice some oldbies can be.)
Then I talked to 8darsh8.
Me: Can you describe a newbie to me?
8darsh8: A newbie is someone who hasn't been on for one hundred days.
Me: No, I mean describe the appearance of a newbie.
8darsh8: Okay.
8darsh8: Ugly.
Me: Is that all?
8darsh8: No.
Me: Okay, go on.
8darsh8: Do you mean people that have just joined or the people that can chat?
Me: I just want you to describe the looks of your idea of a newbie
8darsh8: Well, I don't know, pretty people can be newbies if they had another person send them all the stuff.
Okay, it seems to me that 8darsh8 did not understand my question or something, LoL, so I went on to baybchik.
Me: Could you describe your idea of a newbie?
Babychik: Well, you aren't one, okay, if that's what you're getting at with this!
Me: No, I just want you to describe one.
Babychik: Well, I can't.
...and she left the room. Well, I was getting tired of the rudeness, so I decided to go to actual newbies and see what they thought of it. So I went to tazity, who's only been able to chat for 2 days.
Me: What do you think of people that tell others that they look like a
newbie?
Tazity: I think that they shouldn't say that, because maybe those people that they're talking to like the way they look.
Well, as you can see, some of these oldbies are nice about newbies, and others are just plain mean, but did you notice that no one really described a newbie? I think it's because they don't know. They just pick out people that they think need to be teased, and tell them that they look like a newbie.
My idea of a newbie is a smiley face, like Bballstar said. Do YOU ever think about what a newbie really is? Maybe those of you who like to call people newbies should think about what you're saying, don't you think?
