Before I start my article, I would like to apologize to Gurttrude, SPIFFIE and yprinsez, and also to Supagurle, for remaking your parts without permission. From that, you probably have guessed what my topic is.
I disagree with shmee. It is not really copying of parts, it is remaking. Copying and remaking have two different meanings. Copying (to me) is like saying that the person copied the whole thing and said it was he/she who designed the original one. Remaking is more like remodeling, making the part again, but saying that the current design is not original. I know it's very confusing, but I'm trying my best to explain things.
When I do remakes (which is not often, don't worry), I do not actually copy out the whole thing. I would change the colour or make the pattern slightly different and make clear that it is a remake. I do see people doing remakes of other people's designs (one famous one would be the Nollie hair). I know it's tiring to make good face parts (I don't always do remakes) and have people copying them might make you feel angry. But I would like to bring out a point: most of the time, the parts that get remade are usually ones that the designer refuses to restock.
Perhaps I do not think on the same wavelength as shmee. If my part were to be remade by someone else, I might feel happy, because that shows that the person likes my parts and would like to remake it.
Of course, there are two things that people should do to avoid misunderstanding. First is of course, get permission (although I know that I did not, oops)! Second, do not remake parts just because they (the parts) are expensive and you want to sell it at a lower price! People should not even buy parts from the people who do the latter.
Times Editor, please publish this article. Thank you.
