Hello. I am 'face part designer' in Whyville. I want to become a clothes designer when I grow up, so I started here. Whyville is a really great place to teach stuff. Even though you don't realise it, you probably learned at least 5 things from Whyville. I sure can name them. But that's beside my point. My point is to tell you some important lessons I've learned about being a Whyville designer.
- You must not be let down by un accepted parts or parts that don't get bought very much. Remake it if you want, but practice makes perfect. I know that is such a cliche', but its true.
- Get a catchy name for your store.
- When you name your parts, put a bit of description into it. For example, I once saw a blue hat called 'ice'. Now, when you go to buy it or put it on, you can't find it because the search brings up so many 'ice' things and because Pick Your Nose only shows the names. So name it 'Ice hat' or something more descriptive.
- Don't price your stuff at 2 or 1 clams. It costs 2 clams to restock, so that makes no sense because you'd earn nothing. And if you price it at 1, you're losing clams, one by one.
Ok, so that's just a few short little tips for you new designers. Hope that helped!
