I would just like to clear up some misconceptions about Witchcraft.
- Wiccans DO NOT worship the devil. Wiccans don't believe that god would create the devil to play cosmic war games with, so the devil isn't at all a part of the Wiccan culture.
- The most misinterpreted symbol in the wiccan religion is the pentacle (the five pointed star with a circle around it). The meaning of this symbol to Wiccans is that each point of the star represents an element (spirit, air, fire, water, and earth) and the circle around it represents the spirit of the goddess (or god).
- Witches do not practice black magic. One of the laws in Wicca is "do what you will if it harms none". Most witches do mostly healing magic.
- Most witches do not wear all black and great amounts of 'goth' makeup. If you passed a witch in the street, you probably wouldn't even know. I am Wiccan and my closet is made up of blue jeans and t-shirts -- I own maybe 3 black shirts.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope I have cleared some things up about witches. If you have any more questions about Wicca and witchcraft, feel free to why-mail me, penny02.
