Hi. I'm hapiehed. I recently have had a friend become bulemic because she didn't like the way she looked. It horrified me, so I wrote this article:

Have you ever heard of the saying, "All that glitters isn't gold"? Or maybe "Things are not always what they seem"? I'm almost positive that most of the people reading this have.

Well, have you ever stopped to think about what those sayings mean? The people who came up with them weren't just lunatics writing whatever came into their heads! They meant that just because something looks pretty, doesn't mean it actually is pretty.

Just like people. Just because those models have stick figures doesn't mean you need to be like them! Did you know that most models have had lip injections? Or that most have had their back teeth pulled? Or that some models even use duct tape on their feet to make them look smaller? Almost nothing about those models is natural! Just because they look pretty doesn't mean they're nice on the inside!

And who ever said that a slightly overweight person is ugly? Or that a person who resembles a stick is very attractive? And no, I'm not just talking about girls! Boys can be anorexic too!

I do not like to rag on our town, but Whyville isn't completely helping this epidemic. By letting people make their own face parts, they're letting people become anorexic on the 'net as well as real life!

Please, just think about some things I have said in this article, and next time someone says you are ugly, say, "Well, why do you care? It's my body and I like it!"
